  • Oh beautiful mark of life and alkaline subsistence. Oh clear atmosphere of duality and complacency. Oh vaporous light shifting prism droplet of self-moulding tension bonding structure that is clarity. This blue earth’s element is a soul gratifying blood refreshing redemption of breath. My life in your tender hands created within this mixture of movement and cleansing colors that capture my existence into a simple sip of your substance. Water you are caring loving syrup of life in the early morning hours of unquenchable thirst. Oh the countless numbers of ticks upon the clock have you salvaged me from the terrible liver smashing black grouted being that is rum. And into the life of this setting came a young man named Frank. He cut a slender figure and a curly mop of black hair into our lives. His sincere independence, intelligent wit, honest blue eyes, and heartfelt generosity led Frank into the procession of Karen & Lily’s. His presence assimilated to the environment and became a major part of the soul that was our circle of friends. Slowly his history unfolded and deeper into the sparkle of his eyes we delved. We learned that at a young age Frank had left his mother when she had become as cruel as his Father’s death. He learned to live with dignity in the home of his friends and their parents. He fell into a campaign of drugs to quicken the pace of his life into death and remove a part of the numbing pain of boredom and hardship. With needles he plunged into the veins of cocaine and speed. And forever he escaped from his mother who served only to yell and scream at him. And so Frank went as far away from his newer richer step father bent upon controlling every facet of him, his mother, and his brother.
